As if there weren't enough radio adaptations of Dracula (and perhaps it's true to say that there can never be enough) this serialised reading showed up in Radio 4s A Book at Bedtime slot in 2003. Though, it has also showed up on BBC Radio Ulster more recently - and I presume it was recorded in Ireland, for reasons that will become obvious when you notice that Michael Fassbinder is reading with something closer to his natural accent. Fair enough of course, since Bram Stoker himself was Irish, and somewhere I have an Irish radio documentary that argues Stoker was as influenced in his depiction of Dracula by Irish landlords as he was by English actors. Anyway, though Michael Fassbender headlines here, the story is split between four readers, giving it a faintly 'full cast' feel...

MYSTERIOUS MAGPIE is a channel devoted to ghost and horror stories on British radio, and to dark tales of every kind. I have another channel, MYSTICAL MAGPIE, which is all about stories of fantasy, mythology, and adventure:    / @mysticalmagpie-wo5fn
