Solving the Snow Drift Springs Puzzle

The solution lies in matching the poses of a large fox statue behind the puzzle to the correct light posts.

Phase 1: The First Carvings

To solve the first part of the puzzle, you need to light the correct light posts based on the poses of the fox statues.

First, grab a torch from the fire brazier next to the locked door.

The first three carvings (on the left): The large fox statue behind this section has its head turned to the left. To match its gaze, you must light the leftmost light post of the first three.

The second set of carvings (on the right): The fox statue behind this section is howling, with its head raised to the sky. To match this, you need to light the rightmost light post.

Phase 2: The Final Carving

After lighting the first two posts, you must proceed to the final section of the puzzle.

Climb the small ledge near the locked door to find the last set of carvings and a fresh brazier to light your torch.

Here, the fox's gesture is more direct, as it's looking straight ahead. To solve this last part, you must light the middle light post.

Once all three required posts are lit, the large wooden door will open just enough for Atsu to crouch and crawl through.

The Hidden Hideout and Its Secrets

After a brief crawl, you'll enter the Snow Drift Springs Hideout. Be prepared for a full-scale battle against a large group of the ruthless Nine-Tails clan. Once you defeat all the enemies, you'll find a captive prisoner that you can free.

Your journey isn't quite over, though. Head towards the exit, and you'll find one more puzzle to solve.

Phase 3: The Exit Puzzle

This final puzzle is simpler and uses another set of carvings and two foxes in the background.

Look at the two foxes behind the carvings. One is on the left, and the other is on the right. Both are looking to the left.

To match their gaze, you must light the leftmost carving on both sides.

Solving this final puzzle will open a path above you, which leads to the true rewards of the shrine.

An Altar of Reflection: Interact with this altar to get a skill point, which can be used to unlock a new ability or perk.
