The playful side of Irrfan

To witness Irrfan cracking silly jokes and being a romantic further emphasized the vastness of his talent.

Director Tanuja Chandra, actor Parvathy, co-producers Sutapa Sikdar and Shailja Kejriwal ushered a streak of laughter of how Irrfan came on-board for Qarib Qarib Singlle and what went behind making this romantic-comedy. The conversation was moderated by film journalist Prathyush Parasuraman.

The conversation is part of Irrfan (1967-2020) : A Retrospective that was held from January 26-28, 2024 as part of G5A’s Cinema House.

IRRFAN (1967-2020): A RETROSPECTIVE was both a celebration and an exploration of that artistry. Though known for the gravity of characters he played, he also rocked boats with his AIB sketch, his instinctive comic timing coming from some cosmic source.
