A direct-to-video feature film titled Mighty Ducks the Movie: The First Face-Off was released on VHS on April 8, 1997.[5][6] It comprises three episodes of the series ("The First Face-Off" Parts 1 and 2, and "Duck Hard") edited into one continuous movie. The movie is one of numerous produced since 1969 where the director chose to go under the Alan Smithee pseudonym.
