30 days without social media

Описание к видео 30 days without social media

.6 billion people. There are 7.6 billion people on this planet. Thats 7.6 billion potential opinions we can be exposed to…. Thanks to a little thing called social media.

When I think about it it makes my brain hurt. My instagram account which currently sits at 495 followers is anxiety inducing enough.

Hence… the reason for my little experiment.

30 Days Without Social Media.
I never thought I would quit using instagram. I constantly told myself it wasn’t the issue My mental health could not be suffering because of some stupid app on my phone…. Could it?

On April 27th 2021, I woke up and decided that was the day. I was done with social media and I was done feeling like trash. This time didn’t feel like all the other times… I was ready to do it. And so I embarked on this beautiful 30 day journey.

If you ever wonder what your life will look like without social media… use this as an example….

Here are some things that stood out on this journey:
-I miss reading. There is nothing like finding the best book. I finished a book in 3 days that I started last year hah Made me think about how life is really just a series of stories… a different perspective.
-there is actually so much time in the day when you are not scrolling through endless feeds. I feel less rushed and like I can take my time.
-my phone battery actually lasts a long ass time lol
-motivation and coping skills seemed to have improved a lot, feeling super clear minded and focused
-base level easier to find
-camera roll became my favourite app haha, I started taking photos more for the memory not just because I was going to post it.

Over all I feel like a more centred person. I feel more compassionate and hopeful and less angry and resentful.
I had a few hard days- as we all do- but I am more than happy with my life.

Ultimately 30 days social media free taught me gratitude.. which is something I never expected to learn. It reminded me that there is something so beautiful about simplicity.. about the present moment. The joy and fulfilment you can feel by simply *being here*.

I dont know if I will ever completely delete my accounts… but I will never use social media the way I used to.

Life is so beautiful on the other side of your phone and outside peoples camera lenses.

Is it ironic that I’m sharing this on social media? laugh ahhh well.
