"Nigun" by Jacob Mühlrad
Performed by the Swedish Radio Choir (Radiokören) and conductor Peter Dijkstra on the 24th September 2016 in the Engelbrekt Church, Stockholm, Sweden.

"My idea with this piece was to do an abstraction of a jewish service. The lyrics are fragments from different services. The word 'nigun' means 'melody'. Within Kabbalah (a part of jewish mysticism) the wordless melody is often referred to as it is thought to communicate more than a melody with Words. Spiritually and in services, the two types of melodies overlay and in this piece my ambition is to see how these two relate to eachother."
