PROJECT STEPS
1. As a project manager at Janzen Energy Solutions in Denver, Colorado, you are collaborating with your manager, Shonda Lamont, on a report for potential clients that includes a questionnaire for prospective customers and information about how Westview Municipality employed the company to implement a solar energy solution. Shonda has already reviewed the document and asks you to complete the form and the report.
Change the paper size for the form in section 1 only to a height of 6.7" so the entire form fits on one page.
2. Copy a style from a Janzen Energy Solutions form template, and then apply the style to a heading to use consistent formatting in all company documents, as follows:
a. Import the Form Title style from the file Support_WD365_CS8-11a_Janzen.dotx.
b. Apply the Form Title style to the "Service Request Form" heading on page 1.
3. On page 1 containing the form, insert and position an icon as follows:
a. Search for solar in the gallery of icons.
b. Insert the first icon listed.
c. Set the position of the icon as Position in Top Right with Square Text Wrapping.
4. In cell B4 of the form table, insert a content control so that clients can select an option as follows:
a. Position the insertion point before the space at the beginning of the cell containing "Financial services", and then insert a Check Box content control.
b. Change the checkmark symbol to Character code 252 in the Wingdings font.
5. Add a content control for indicating when clients want to start working with an energy expert as follows:
a. Insert a Drop-Down List content control after the text "When do you want to start working with a Janzen Energy Solutions expert?".
b. In Design mode, add the following items as the three choices available in the drop-down list.
As soon as possible
Within the next week
Within the next month
6. Remove all the borders from the table so that the top part of the form blends in with the bottom part of the form.
7. Insert a rectangle to separate the form from the other text on the page as follows:
a. Draw a Rectangle around the form content only, from the "First Name:" line to the "When do you want to start working with a Janzen Energy Solutions expert?" line.
b. Change the height of the rectangle to 2.3" and change the width to 7.3".
c. Move the rectangle so that its top and bottom edges encompass the text in the form.
d. Change the rectangle shape to the Rectangle: Rounded Corners shape.
e. Apply the Colored Outline – Blue, Accent 6 shape style to the rectangle.
f. Apply an Offset: Bottom Left shadow to the rectangle.
g. Send the rectangle behind the text.
h. Adjust the position of the rectangle as needed so it encloses the form.
8. Insert a subdocument to include the text that Shonda Lamont has reviewed as follows:
a. Turn formatting marks on. Important: Leave formatting marks turned on until you are instructed to hide them.
b. Switch to Outline view, and then show the contents of the master document.
c. With the insertion point in the blank paragraph above the Table of Figures heading, insert the document Support_WD365_CS8-11a_Westview.docx to incorporate the main content for the report with Shonda's revisions. Answer Yes to All if prompted.
d. Click in the subdocument and then unlink it so that the subdocument becomes a permanent part of the master document.
e. Close Outline view.
f. Change the paper size to Letter for all the text from page 2 to the end of the document (Section 2).
9. Resolve the revisions Shonda made in the subdocument as follows:
a. Accept Shonda's first two tracked changes, which insert the text ": Westview Municipality" and "Solutions".
b. Reject the next tracked change, which inserts the sentence "The time was right for solar power.", because the sentence is redundant.
c. Accept the remaining changes in the document because they improve or correct the writing.
10. On page 2, insert the Date field in the blank line below the subtitle "A sustainable solution to power an entire community" to display the date using a format similar to March 31, 2028.
11. Starting with the first sentence on page 2 ("Situated in a valley …a remarkable transformation."), select "Westview" and mark all instances of it as an index entry.
12. On page 2, format and compress the picture of the solar panels to make it more exciting as follows:
a. Apply the Pastels Smooth artistic effect.
b. Compress the picture for use on the Web to reduce the file size of the completed document.
