Shockwave therapy for ED – update 2023 | UroChannel

In this video on UroChannel, urologist and sexologist from Göttingen, Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock discusses his experience treating erectile dysfunction (ED) with low-intensity shockwave therapy (ESWT). Shockwave treatment is the only method with the potential for cure when it comes to organic erectile dysfunction. While the FDA has not yet approved ESWT for ED, Buntrock shares his treatment protocol, which includes using focused shockwaves with an electromagnetic shockwave generator and combining ESWT with Tadalafil. He notes that the efficacy of shockwaves varies between patients and can depend on the severity of ED, but he has seen positive results in mild to moderate cases and in ED caused by pelvic floor overactivity. Buntrock also discusses recent recommendations from the European Association of Urology guidelines.
