If you want to paint along, the knot in this video is a variation on one in this video:    • Paint with me | Celtic Knot in Watercolour   though it's a three by three knot rather than three by four.

This was a bit of an experiment - I added a loose decorative band of leaves on the paler band of the knot I initially painted. When that was done, I'd lost some of the contrast and definition in the overall design, so kept adding details until I felt I'd pulled it back! I added the gold freehand and it's a bit wobblier than I normally like, so if I were to do it again, I'd probably pencil sketch it in first.

SUPPLIES

This project was painted on Arches Rough 300gsm paper on a block.
I used the following watercolours:
Professional Series by Winsor and Newton: Winsor Blue (Red Shade), Indigo
Daniel Smith: Pthalo Turquoise, Mayan Blue Genuine
QoR: Green Gold
For painting the knot, I used a Pro Arte one stroke brush. For the leaves I used a Princeton Neptune pointed round brush.
