This 2000 sq. ft. Compact Pune Home With A Skylight Opens Up To Nature (Home Tour).

Amongst a host of row houses in this dense Pune neighbourhood, sits a 2000 sq.ft. compact home sandwiched between structures, row houses, and homes on three sides, and receiving limited light from the front. Despite a warm structure, the home was devoid of light, ventilation, and natural elements. The planning was typical but led to clutter and potentially dingy spaces and corners.

Architects took this as a challenge. They aimed to transform this space into something more refreshing - one that includes nature in the built environment.

This film captures the redeveloped home, that is completely transformed via a skylight intervention replacing the tight parking space in the front of the house. But instead of stopping there, the architects also introduce a new aesthetic. Specific material choices and design elements declutter the space and transform it into something more organic.
