RONGO JHALONG BINDU, North Bengal Visit Part 3

Описание к видео RONGO JHALONG BINDU, North Bengal Visit Part 3

In our previous episodes we could share the fascinating drive from Kolkata to Gajoldoba in North Bengal, the glimpses of Beautiful Birds in marshes of Gajoldoba and enchanting Teesta river and then a wonderful drive through the dense forest of Gorumara to reach Samsing tea estates and family nally to Rongo.

In this video we have shown Rongo, small hamlet in the Himalayan foothills of Kalimpong district located beside a rocky stream of name Jalong Khola. The gushing water of the river amidst lush green forest on one side of the river forms an object of major attraction to the tourists. There is an old wooden bridge to cross the river and reach the other end where the foot track leads to the forest.

We stayed in a homestay named "Rongo Riverside Farmstay". One can wake up here with the chirping of the birds and the beautiful eye pleasing views of the sunrise behind the wide valleys on one side and entire village of Rongo and mountains of Bhutan on other side. The people of the homestay are very warm and hospitable.

From Rongo we drove to Bindu via Gouribas and Jhalong. Gouribas is famous for its rubber plantation. From Jhalong one can get bidrs eye view of the valley with settlements in Bhutan on the far end.

"Bindu" is Dam site of Jaldhaka hydel power project and also forms Border of India and Bhutan. Here Jaldhaka river is the border line between the two countries.

From Bindu we drove back to the plains of Murti through dense forest of "Kumai Range".
The details of that journey will be shared soon in the next video episode.
