Marlin 336 Stock Refinishing

The forearm stock has some bumps and bruises and a few deep dents. The forearm is original but the buttstock is an aftermarket replacement. So, just like my girlfriend, the drapes don't match the carpet. The buttstock is a pretty nice piece of walnut so I decided to refinish the forearm and buttstock and see how they turn out. It will be tough to match the finish, but it might be worth a little effort. Depending on the results, I might try to find a walnut forearm to match the buttstock, or maybe a new laminated stock set ...?
