There is one of the two best slot canyons that i know in Kazakhstan, situated near Red Rocks not far from Burguluk . It is about 1 hour taxi ride from the center of Shymkent, the 3-d largest city in the country . I met only one group of 4 adults (+2 kids near entrance to canyon with grand-mama) for the nearly half a day there on Saturday in October 2024. I also hiked to about 1700 m elevation from 1100 m elevation to the ridge with great panoramic views . There were traces of some wild animals, including some 5-fingered like traces and I did not explore the forested canyon where I saw many of those traces (they might belong to lynx or a larger predictor).
