HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Hamilton Township Police have made an arrest in a shooting homicide that occurred on Saturday night.

Christopher Allen Timmons, 35, was arrested for reckless homicide after the truck he used to flee the scene was found in Deerfield Township.

Hamilton Township Police was dispatched to a home on Stephens Road for a report of a person not breathing.

Darlene Yocum, 32, was found shot inside the residence. Yocum was transported to Bethesda North Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Yocum had six children ranging from 14 to as young as two weeks old. Five of the children were in the home as their mother was shot and killed and witnessed various aspects of it.

Hamilton Township Police Department focused on the well-being of the children and a neighbor opened his home as a safe haven for them during the first few hours of the investigation.

The Hamilton Township firefighters and EMTs remained on the scene for several hours to help care for the newborn and toddler. One firefighter's wife went out and bought diapers and supplies for the infant in the middle of the night.

One of the children even asked a firefighter if he would pray with him.

Members of the Child Advocacy Center of Warren County and a victim witness coordinator from the Warren County Prosecutor's Office spent the overnight hours with the children so they would be more comfortable while interviewed.

Warren County Prosecutor David. P. Fornshell said that he often does not describe scenes in such detail but the kindness he witnessed was so extraordinary that he felt the community needed a glimpse into the caliber of the professionals who respond to these types of emergencies.

Allen Timmons is being held at the Warren County Jail.
