@0.03 Some important note: Archean is one of the four EONS in our geological time scale Precambrian is a SUPEREON which covers almost 4 billion years. Pangaea was still intact even at the end of Permian(Paleozoic era). It started breaking up in the early Mesozoic which resulted in the origin of tethys sea between the Laurasia and Gondwanaland.
Carboniferous is part of PALEOZOIC ERA.
CRETACEOUS is last stage of Mesozoic era during which the Deccan traps started outpouring the lava on to the Indian plate.
The man like apes started appearing some where around 5 million years ago.

This lecture explains the geological formations in India and is divided into 4 eras and 10 periods.
4 eras include Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic.
10 periods explained are Quaternary, Tertiary, Carboniferous, Gondwana, Upper & Lower Paleozoic, Vindhyan, Cuddapah, Dharwar and Archean.
