remarks: Radio MAYAK is a nation-wide public service on FM and (still) OIRT-FM. The station brings a wider mix of information and entertaining programmes, but also musical shows. It is worldwide known for its presence on AM and the famous interval signal. Some years ago, all AM frequencies have been withdrawn due to financial cuts. Anyway, a few OIRT frequencies remained. This transmitter near the border with Ukraine operating on 71,87 MHz has a very poor audio quality. The sound is almost like medium wave. However, you can clearly hear the lovely interval signal of MAYAK. In 2018, this frequency is listed as off-air. Listeners are advised to tune in 88.7 FM Belgorod City and 105 FM Stary Oskol instead.
