Alkynes are terminal or non-terminal, the terminal alkynes are acidic due to sp hybridized carbon as we know the sp hybridized carbon is more electronegative than other carbons which make a partial positive charge on hydrogen which is attached to the terminal side of such carbon atoms.
Terminal alkynes are very weak acids having very small Ka value. Alkynes are less acidic than alcohols and water but more acidic than alkanes and alkenes.
Alkynes can also be polymerized into benzne, chloroprene and other important polymers.
