In 1989 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular comic book character Batman this Radio 4 drama was produced by Dirk Maggs. He would go on to produce more radio dramas including new hitchhikers guide to the galaxy programs.

It contains references to such Batman stories as Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman: A Death in the Family, Batman: Year Three, and Batman: Son of the Demon.
