Tanjore Painting gold foil leaves are used to decorate tanjore painiting which gives royal look to the painting. These are 22carat pure gold foil. Imitation gold foils are also available in market. be careful if you take gold foil in online market.
In this video I explained differences between real and imitation gold foil.

Where as mysore painting gold foil is very delicate. It does not stick the paper. It easily sticks to the hands, so we have to be careful with it. Mysore Painting gold foil is less costly than that of the Tanjaore Painting gold foil.
Imitation gold foil is also available . if we used imitation foil, after few days it would be turned black colour. so don't buy imitation foil...
