The consensus I've seen a lot online is that the Xbox purchase of Activision is going to be a bad thing for the entire gaming industry. While companies like Tencent and Sony have been doing the same thing on a smaller scale it is perceived as a good thing. I question why that is, and why this negative reaction has been so strong against Microsoft and Xbox. The Microsoft Activision purchase has seen Microsoft worth increase while the PlayStation Activision reaction be very negative with Sony losing about 20 billion dollars in value. The Sony response to Activision was also a bit bizarre with no statement except one very cold post about how Microsoft had better follow the rules. The Sony Activision statement has been odd, and the entire Xbox vs PS5 console exclusives conversation has divulged into a bit of nonsense in my opinion. I collected a few thoughts for today's video.
