This is a review of the Intermountain ES44AC Diesel Locomotive in the Union Pacific livery which comes as a DCC (Digital Command Control) fitted model by default. There is a sound option of this model but I have chosen to buy the non-sound variant as I might fit an ESU LokSound Decoder into this model at a late date as I like the ESU decoders better. The model is nicely detailed and its rich for detailling so for those of you that like highly detailed models. I would certainly recommend buying this one for your model railway or railroad. I am going to get the BNSF version next year as all the current BNSF ones have sold out and I want one of those bad boy's with the Soundtraxx Tsunami sound decoder. But more of those will be out next year. I have used the Hornby R965 Power Controller for this test run and the model seems to run very smoothly and I like the LED lights as well. So top marks all round for Intermountain for giving us this fantastic model. Please be sure to watch this video in HD and also this video has Dolby 5.1 surround sound for PC's that support it.
