Jamie Miller reveals he wrote the song "Here's Your Perfect" when he got cheated on

Known for his signature soul-pop style of singing, the artist behind the song “Here’s Your Perfect,” Jamie Miller had a virtual catch up with DJ Shai!

On this exclusive interview, Jamie and DJ Shai talked about the story or how the song “Here’s Your Perfect” came up. The two also played a game called ‘Never Have I Ever’ where the singer revealed that he was cheated on before.

Jamie shared that he got cheated on when he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his musical career. “I got cheated on. I was so heartbroken. I put my feelings into thoughts,” He said. “I wrote it down in a piece of paper: I remember the day, even wrote down the date, that I fell for you and now it's crossed out in red but I still can't forget if I wanted too,” Jamie added. The line he wrote eventually became the first stanza of “Here’s Your Perfect.” “This came so from the heart. It might be a little bit petty but it came from the heart and I feel like people connected to it so let’s go,” He shared.

The singer also gave an advise to those who also got cheated on: “You’re too good for that. If you don’t want to be with someone, don’t be with them,” Jamie said.

Jamie Miller was first discovered on The Voice UK 2017 where he placed third In 2020, Miller was signed under Atlantic records and since then, the Wales-born singer gained praises from P!nk to Jennifer Hudson and to Kelly Clarkson. His song “Here’s Your Perfect,” has already amassed 48 million streams on Spotify.
