Research Spotlight: Automating XRF analysis of turf soils

Описание к видео Research Spotlight: Automating XRF analysis of turf soils

Our Ph.D. student, Glen Obear, has created a one-of-a-kind automated XRF sampler with the help of the UNL Instrument Shop. It is being used to analyze of turfgrass soil chemistry non-destructively. We are currently using this machine to study how iron and clay-layers form in sand-based root zones over time. In the near future, we will be able to use this technology to analyze root zone samples from golf and sports turf. Pretty cool stuff.
