This new test file shows exactly the difference between playing FEL P7 on hardware that supports it and hardware that doesn't. This file can be played on any DV setup because I baked the FEL essence into the BL. I've compared 10 different movies in which FEL makes an obvious difference.

The file is profile 5 DV with original metadata from the P7 rpu. As I said FEL is baked and compared directly to playback without baking fel like the Shield, dune, zidoo &co do.

In this file, you have an example of:
1- fel expanding brightness
2- fel reducing brightness
3- fel fixing HDR10 encoding issues/glitches
4- fel improving grains/details
5- fel changing colors
6- fel doing nothing

FEL BAKED? This is a process that takes the Full Enhancement Layer (FEL) and merges/bakes it to the HDR10 Base layer (BL) which is exactly what your bluray player does when it decodes both layers. The RPU (dynamic metadata) are not baked in since those will produce different tone mapping depending on your TV capabilities.

🖥️ Device Compatibility:
For an authentic evaluation, I recommend watching this video on HDR-compatible devices. Feel the difference as HDR technology unfolds, showcasing its full potential. If your display doesn't support HDR, youtube will tone map the images to SDR(compress to 100nits) which is far from ideal.
