Influence, Business and Ethical Dilemmas

Описание к видео Influence, Business and Ethical Dilemmas

Is there an industry or job in which a Christian should not participate? Is it the best action to leave a job when an ethical dilemma arises? What happens when values are in conflict? What should be the Christian response? You inevitably will encounter ethical dilemmas in your workplaces. Dr. Tom Wilson, Biola University Crowell School of Business Professor and attorney, addresses these questions and more. Dr. Wilson suggests Christians should engage with culture and find a place at the table of influence.

Discussion Questions:
1. An ethical dilemma is where held values collide and are at odds with one another. Dr. Wilson gave Rahab as an example. The question isn’t “if” values will collide, it’s “when.” Think of a past or current situation where you are facing an ethical dilemma at home or in the workplace. What are those values in conflict?

2. Dr. Wilson shared five factors to when considering to stay or walk away. How might this help you and others in discerning what is best?

3. If we agree that Christians need to be in the forefront of business because moral tensions exist, then you will need support to be effective in your calling to the marketplace. Who is supporting you and offering wisdom? Who can you support and encourage today? Who needs to know that their work is ministry and that it matters?
