This article is about trigonometry in NDA 2- 2021. We have brought you some important tips and tricks for NDA 2-2021 to make trigonometry easier for you.
NDA 2021 Syllabus comprises of Mathematics & General Ability sections. National Defence Academy (NDA) is the Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces. The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts a national level exam called as NDA Exam. This exam is held for the candidates who want to join Indian Defence Forces (Army, Navy & Air Force). Every year many aspirants come forward to take this exam. NDA Examination will be organized two times in a year.
The Mathematics paper covers the following chapters and topics in trigonometry: Trigonometrical ratios,properties of triangles, Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians, Inverse trigonometric functions, Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae, Applications – Height and distance, Multiple and Sub-multiple angles. So to make this easy for you we have compiled a few tricks which will make trigonometry easier for you.
Step 1: Review your all basics.
Manipulating algebra practice. That is a crucial step in any branch of mathematics. Practice quadratic equation, linear equation etc.
Practice all the basics of geometry, Geometry is closely related to trigonometry.
Step 2: Start with the right angle triangles. It is a three sided triangle with one of its angle is 90 degree.
Right angle has three sides opposite, hypotenuse and adjacent.
Hypotenuse is the longest side of a right angle.
There are three basic sine, cosine and tangent function in trigonometry.
a)Sin θ = O/H
b)Cos θ = A/H
c)Tan θ = A/O
These functions can memorize in this way,
a) SOH=Sin(sine). Opposite over hypotenuse.
b) CAH=Cos(Cosine). Adjacent over hypotenuse.
c) TAO= Tan(Tangent). Adjacent over opposite.
Learn Pythagoras theorem.
Hypotenuse(square) = Opposite(square)+ Adjacent(square)
Step 3: Learn the other important function of trigonometry.
Learn about measuring angle in radians. It is a another way to measure angle.
Like 180 degree in radians is π or 3.14.
Learn three important fundamental identities,
a) sin2 θ +cos2 θ =1
b)1+tan2 θ =sec2 θ
c) 1+cot2 θ =cosec2 θ
Learn the other three most important ratios.
a)cot θ =1/tan θ
b)sec θ =1/cos θ
c)cosec θ =1/sin θ
Step 5: Practice is the key for any branch of mathematics. Trigonometry is very easy to apply only when students know how use the rule and formulas. The more you practice the easier it will keep getting.
