Pigeon Peas: The First Plant In My Zone 9 North Florida Backyard Permaculture Food Forest

Описание к видео Pigeon Peas: The First Plant In My Zone 9 North Florida Backyard Permaculture Food Forest

I heard author Michael Pollan mention pigeon peas on a podcast recently, and it inspired me to make this video. Pigeon Peas (also known as gandules) are amazing plants that are easy to grow, and can provide a lot of valuable resources to whoever grows them. Not only are the peas a protein rich food, the plants also provide mulch, improve soil and can even be a fuel source.

If you are thinking of getting started with gardening or permaculture and you live in zone 9 or 10, pigeon peas are a super easy way to get started. Even if all you are interested in is self sufficiency, this is one plant that can provide a ton of resources for you.
