We are afraid when thinking about death
But we still live a wandering life
We are afraid when thinking about the future
But we still live a meandering life

We are afraid when spring knocks on the door
Lunar New Year arrives quickly like a flame
Still the question with a beloved face
Have you gotten married this year?

We are afraid when summer passes the threshold
Looking at the soft red petals of the flamboyant tree
The group of girls fluttering in white ao dai
Excitedly leave school to welcome the summer sun.

We are afraid when autumn passes by the lane
A couple sharing a small kiss
Dry leaves falling on the street
Rain falling gently touching wet hair

We are afraid when winter arrives
The sound of affectionate trees rustling
Mother's hands frozen in the night's mist
Salty sweat mixed with tears penetrating the heart...
