As I write this I am writing in the middle of the spiral cucumbers for cucumber salad, and old recipe from family. Many of the lines that come out of this thing to get about 2 feet long. Food preparation is much more fun than that. The first four (large) cucumbers taken every 4 minutes to enter a lock perfect, long spirals. Okay, I have complained to myself about some of the small details. For instance about 3/8ths of the center of everything we are losing spiral, and that's actually true of cucumbers, this means that the device essentially get rid of those pesky seeds for you, but in the case of carrot, lost some tiny vegetables . But who cares! Use this center to 3/8ths piece of carrot for something else, or a snack while chop the remaining vegetables. It's not like 3/8ths center is unusable, not easy in a long spiral filaments. Therefore, it would be pointless to try to crush small carrots or asparagus because they are much larger than 3/8ths of an inch so you would not have much to spiral with the World Cuisine Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer.
