A Collaborative Integrated Health Mela was held at Laitmawsiang Village on 10th October organized by the Dr. H. G. Roberts Hospital, as part of its Centennial Jubilee celebrations, wherein the Meghalaya Farmers' (Empowerment) Commission partnered with the Hospital and the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Services (NEIGRIMS) to pilot preventive health care screening for the rural and farming community as part of its Farmer First initiative. The event also witnessed the first of its kind introduction, in the state, of a revolutionary portable examination platform "Clinic in a Bag / Clinic Without Walls" solution by Rijuven Medicare India Pvt Ltd, which has the potential to bring remote diagnostic and medical testing facilities to our state's rural and underserved communities. The Health Mela witnessed an extremely good response with 971 patients registered and screened.
