DESIGN DETAILS
Reconfiguration and DG/Capacitor placement are used to reduce power losses and keep the voltage within its allowable interval in power distribution systems considering voltage, current, and radial condition constraints. It is needed to solve two nonlinear discrete optimization problems simultaneously, so an intelligent algorithm is used to reach an optimum solution for network power losses. Nowadays reliability is also important parameter in electrical industry to achieve high security and adequacy of the system. There are three important parameters required to introduce in reliability viz customer composite damage function, average load, and failure rate. This Matlab design is based finding optimal location of DG and capacitor considering reconfiguration and reliability which is function of failure rate. Failure rate and modification due to number of DG/capacitor placement is critical issues need to be addressed.

The objective function Min F=Min(P_(T,Loss)+λ_V×S_CV+λ_I×S_CI) (Reference paper 1)

Using Matlab by applying backward-forward sweep load flow, the design tested on IEEE 33 and 69 bus system for 9 cases and 6 reliability indices as given below,
1. Basecase (without optimization algorithm)
2. Optimal DG Placement
3. Optimal Capacitor Placement
4. Network Reconfiguration
5. Optimal DG Placement after Network Reconfiguration
6. Optimal Capacitor Placement after Network Reconfiguration
7. DG Capacitor Placement after Reconfiguration
8. Network Reconfiguration after DG Capacitor Placement
9. Simultaneously Reconfiguration DG Capacitor Placement
