🔹 Silver Edge – Patch 7.40 Changes
In Patch 7.40, Silver Edge received a very important update.
The Shadow Walk debuff now caps the target’s movement speed at 200.
🔸 This debuff:
❌ Cannot be dispelled
❌ Does not pierce Debuff Immunity (BKB)
✔️ Is applied after breaking invisibility with an attack
🔹 How Silver Edge Counters Speed Buffs
This change makes Silver Edge a direct counter to heroes who use movement speed buffs on themselves.
When an enemy:
Activates a self-cast movement speed ability or ultimate
Like Lycan transforming into wolf form
Or Dark Seer using Surge on himself
If you hit them with Silver Edge 👇
📉 Their movement speed gets hard-capped at 200,
even while their speed buff is still active.

Silver Edge is extremely effective against:
Lycan → Wolf form loses its insane speed
Dark Seer → Surge becomes almost useless
Weaver → His signature escape is shut down
