Nigeria: Supporting rural youth and their families to build their own businesses

The Niger Delta in southern Nigeria boasts much of the country’s wealth, but young people in rural areas still struggle to get their start.

A new project is addressing the problem by offering young people the opportunity to learn entrepreneurial skills to set up their own businesses and turn them into family enterprises)

Using a unique Incubator model, the Life ND ( Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises) project supported by IFAD and the government of Nigeria has transformed the lives of rural youth. Having been learnt new skills and set up their own enterprises, they then pass on that knowledge to others.
