Injection Mold Slides

Описание к видео Injection Mold Slides

Slides in plastic injection molds are moving features in the mold that move into position during the molding of the part. Typically the steel that creates these features will interfere with the molded plastic when ejecting the part. In order to eject the part, as the mold opens guide pins pull the slides away from the core so that the steel that would interfere during ejection is pulled away. When the mold closes, the slides move along the guide pins to bring steel into position for molding the next part. Molds can be designed to pull slides from multiple directions and are economical ways to create geometry in parts like holes, undercuts or other features that may otherwise need to be machined in a secondary operation.
