2013 RAM 1500 rear control arm bushing failure

Описание к видео 2013 RAM 1500 rear control arm bushing failure

I started experiencing torque steer in my 2013 RAM 1500. When driving at a constant speed, everything felt fine. But when I would begin to quickly accelerate, I could feel the front of the truck move slightly to the right. And when I abruptly let off the gas pedal, the front of the truck would move slightly to the left.
Since the 2013 RAM 1500 uses a coil sprung rear axle (instead of leaf springs), the axle is located in place by 4 control arms and a track bar (as shown in the video). Each individual control arm has a rubber bushing on each end of it...With a metal sleeve bonded to the rubber. The metal sleeve is what the bolt slides thru when mounting the control arms to the truck.
In this case, the front bushing on the passenger side lower control arm went bad (as shown in the video. This allowed the passenger side of the axle to move forward during quick acceleration...which causes the front of the truck to push to the right. And under quick deceleration (taking your foot quickly off the gas pedal without using the brakes), the front of the truck would pull to the left.
So the damaged bushing will be measured for its length, outside diameter and inside diameter. I will then search for a matching bushing to replace the bad one.
