Описание к видео Temple That Cures Deadly Diseases? Unbelievable Story of Maa Kiriteswari!

Today, we’re going to visit one of the most spiritually powerful and lesser-known Shakti Peethas of India—Maa Kiriteswari Temple, located in the serene village of Kiritkona, Murshidabad, West Bengal.
But why is this place known as the land of the crown?
Why is this temple called an Upa Peetha, unlike the other Shakti Peethas?
Why is the original crown preserved in a mysterious place called Guptamath?
Can the Goddess here really cure deadly diseases—like she did for Nawab Mir Jafar and Rani Bhabani’s daughter Tara?
And who was the mysterious little girl who asked a bangle seller for ornaments and vanished?
So many stories... so many secrets…
Come, let’s uncover the divine mysteries of Maa Kiriteswari Temple—together.
The nearest railway station to the Kiriteshwari Temple is Azimganj Railway Station, which is around 8 kilometers away from the temple.
On the way, we can see beautiful greenery, paddy fields, and small village homes on both sides. It’s a peaceful and scenic route through the countryside.
Luckily, we met a temple priest here who helped us find accommodation and food.
This is the room — we can see it’s spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The same person who arranged the stay and food also helped us with valuable information about the temple and its divine stories.
This is the place where Goddess Sati's Kireeta, or crown, fell. Kiriteswari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in the Indian subcontinent.
this temple is located precisely in a beautiful village called Kiritkona
Goddess is worshipped here as Vimala, while God Shiva is revered as the Bhairava form of Sambart. Kireeta is not actually a body part. That's why this place is known as an Upapeetha. The crown is always kept covered with a cloth, and it is only on the Ashtami of Durga Puja that the cloth is changed, and the crown is given a sacred bath.
The actual crown is kept safe at Rani Bhabani’s Guptamath, which is located close to the temple. I’ll show it to you later in the video. Long ago, this temple complex had 16 different temples for many gods and goddesses. The original temple was destroyed in 1405, but the current temple was rebuilt in the 19th century by King Darpanarayan of Lalgola.
Kiriteswari Temple also has a powerful history linked to Nawab Mir Jafar. It’s said that during his last days, when he was suffering from leprosy, he asked for Charanamrito—the holy water used for bathing Maa Kiriteswari. This shows how deeply people believed in the healing power of the Goddess.
There’s also a touching story about Tara, the daughter of Rani Bhabani. When she fell seriously ill with smallpox, it is believed that Maa Kiriteswari miraculously cured her.
There’s also a beautiful story about a bangle seller. One day, he was near the temple pond when a young girl came to him asking for bangles. She was actually the Goddess herself. She told him to collect the money from her father, who was the temple’s caretaker. This story shows the loving and playful nature of Maa Kiriteswari.
In September 2023, the Indian Tourism Ministry named Kiriteswari the Best Tourism Village of India, proving how important and special this spiritual place really is.
You’ll really feel bad when you see what’s inside this old temple. Look at this—someone has kept cement sacks and other stuff right inside the temple. It’s so heartbreaking to see something like this in such a holy place.Right behind the main temple is the Bhairava Baba Temple, dedicated to the guardian deity or Kshetrapalaka of this Shakti Peetha. In every Shakti Peetha, we find a murti of Bhairava Baba, and here, he is worshipped in the form of Samvartha Bhairava. Inside the temple, there is an ancient Shiva Linga, and the walls and roof are beautifully decorated with red patterns and drawings.
We have to walk through a beautiful village to reach the ancient Asta Bhuja Durga Devi Temple. We have to walk right next to this stunning Kali Sagar pond. Just look at the sunset from here, guys—it’s absolutely beautiful! While we walk, let me tell you another amazing story about this temple. It’s the story of a bangle seller who lived near the temple.
