Portable Magnetic Loop Antenna for 11 Metre 27Mhz CB Band

Описание к видео Portable Magnetic Loop Antenna for 11 Metre 27Mhz CB Band

This is my magnetic loop antenna for QRP operation (4 Watts or less) on the 27Mhz 11 metre CB band. I had been looking for a lightweight antenna to use with my Midland Alan 42 handheld rig. The purpose of the antenna is to enable pedestrian mobile operation for the Charlie Tango DX Net held every Sunday afternoon in the UK. One of the options was a longer whip but I fancied having a go at making a magnetic loop. Having searched the Internet, viewing a good few designs I plumbed for this design by Larry WD0AKX RadioHamGuy.

Caution: Even at fairly low power levels, the RF voltages on the capacitor and main loop become quite high. For example, a 12W power level will develop almost 800V across the capacitor at a current of 5A. Please do your research with regards to safety before building a magnetic loop.
