I am ready to pass today DNA-examination on relationship with this earth. I am ready to come today on that place where there was a sacrament of a unification. Without a card. Without a conductor. On a smell and intuition.
Kandahar ... I should remember it with shudder and fear for not once in its walls my life was exposed to danger of death. I should hate it for loss of close fighting friends which it, like Moloch, has gobbled up without analysis, without a drop of pity.. To hate for the created preconditions for the treachery, come true on "continent" while I was at war in streets of this city. I should despise it for hopeless poverty and the wildness peculiar to city inhabitants.
From such as I Kandahar is capable to increase the population twice. Such as I, have carried the pain and memory of Kandahar in thousand cities, villages and villages of Soviet Union. For such as I, the word "Kandahar" serves as the eternal password.
What have we left there? For what today we long? That we want? Whether Kandahar years are pulled out from life? Or Kandahar - adequately passed examination on courage, human decency, wisdom and a maturity?
