Northern region of India received fresh snowfall after a prolonged dry spell of nearly four months on Jan 23. From Ramban to Shimla, streets have been covered with the white blanket of snow, adding to the charm of the area. People expressed a sense of significant relief and happiness at the much-awaited snowfall. Notably, Holy shrine of Vaishno also witnessed the season’s first snowfall, covering the Trikuta hills. Tourism industry, which had been witnessing a slowdown, too received a boost as tourists thronged to enjoy the snowfall.
