Скачать или смотреть Don Lawrence paints the Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire!

Yet another book I seemingly stumbled upon, I read it a few months back, forgot where I put it, and rediscovered it while cleaning my shelves.
Absolutely gorgeous art from Don Lawrence. I don't know where I learned about Lawrence, but I certainly have known about his series "Storm" at least since I was a teen, in the olden days before the internet.

While it is tropey at times, quite dense with text, and definitely a product of its time, there is a lot of imagination on display and quite the involved story of the brothers who would found the titular empire and protect it from its enemies.

For whatever odd reason, I've always associated Lawrence's art with the creatures of Léo's Aldebaran books. No idea why. Maybe we should talk about Aldebaran one of these days while we're at it...
