54 - Solved Problems on Magnetic Circuits

In this video, we are going to solve simple problems on magnetic circuits, before we consider the more complex examples in the subsequent videos.

A magnetic circuit is made up of a closed path where a magnetic field represented as lines of magnetic flux are confined.
Given a magnetic circuit composed of iron core and an air gap, lets assume that a coil of N turns is wound around the iron core. The current in the coil produced by the voltage generates magnetic field around the core which in turn sets up magnetic flux within the circuit. This flux is same throughout the iron and air gap.

the source of the magnetic circuit is called - mmf -magnetomotive force
Resistance - Reluctance and
Current - Magnetic flux
F = IN, I = current in the coil, N = number of turns pf the coil
H = F/l - magnetic field intensity
B = flux/A, magnetic flux density

F = flux (Ra+Rc)
F = Fa + Fc .
