In early 2013 the on the final day of the new year celebration turned to tragedy when the village chief of a small community on the outskirts of the Sichuan province city Panzhihua was found dead alongside his wife.

As police looked for suspects among the tiny community they found no reason why anyone would want to bring harm to the popular and well respected couple.
