Not only are Ringworm one of my all time favorite bands generally speaking, they're certainly in my top ten as far as Ohio bands go. When I was getting into Hardcore after mostly just listening to Metal exclusively, it made sense to start with bands that leaned more in that direction. An older friend of mine who's been going to shows since the 80s told me check out Rorschach, Crumbsuckers, Integrity, Ringworm, and a bunch of other classic Hardcore bands.

While I really like most of the bands from that time, I was super into the Ohio stuff starting with Integrity. Eventually I went looking for more, coming up with In Cold Blood and Ringworm. I got ahold of their first full length "The Promise" and listened to it constantly. There was a time where I would travel to see them, as close as Baltimore, and as far as California when they played Pomona awhile back. My first time was on a stacked tour with Nails and New Lows that didn't touch New York, so I ditched work in the middle of my lunch break, and took a bus to Boston to see that (shockingly didn't get fired).

Years later, Ringworm's still going hard especially with the return of long time bassist Mike Lare returning to the band on second guitar, and they're still one of my favorite bands. If you haven't heard of them, I suggest you familiarize yourself with their discography starting from the beginning, and when you've done that, come out to a show to support this great band.
