If you also use ATM card then be careful, because now RBI's new guideline has come, if you withdraw cash from ATM then you will be charged. Charge will be levied along with GST and if you do balance inquiry then also charge will be levied, so know this.



Starting May 1, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved an increase in ATM transaction charges applicable after exceeding the free transaction limits. For cash withdrawals beyond these free transactions, the fee will rise from ₹21 to ₹23 per transaction. 

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be applied separately to these fees. Assuming a GST rate of 18%, the total cost for a cash withdrawal after the free limit would be calculated as follows:
• Transaction Fee: ₹23 
• GST (18% of ₹23): ₹4.14 
• Total Charge: ₹27.14 

Therefore, each additional cash withdrawal beyond the free limit will incur a total charge of ₹27.14, inclusive of GST. 

Please note that these charges apply once you exceed your monthly free transaction limits, which are: 
• Own Bank ATMs: Five free transactions per month (inclusive of financial and non-financial transactions). 
• Other Bank ATMs: Three free transactions per month in metro cities and five in non-metro locations. 

It’s advisable to monitor your ATM usage to avoid additional charges and consider using digital payment methods to minimize transaction costs.
