GIS is a technical skill that we have learned and we are seeing some amazing maps out there. And when the time approaches to seek promotional opportunities, we need to incorporate strategic ways of thinking. This presentation answers the question, How can we lead effectively and plan effective GIS research and communications strategies for public health impact? We will discuss the strategic thinking process, the collaborative GIS process, and share ways to incorporate the broader picture to improve public health for communities.
