Sea turtles 🤝 jaguars. Jaguars are a known predator of sea turtles in Central America. However on a stretch of coast in Costa Rica, conservation efforts to increase the jaguar population are having an unusual positive effect on sea turtle populations as well. As more jaguars roamed the beaches, scientists noticed other predators that would usually raid turtle nests, like coyotes, stayed away. The unwitting alliance has turned the predator into the protector.
