I thought I would share the traditions we have during the Christmas season to remind us of the reason we celebrate.

1. We do not do Elf on the Shelf, but we do have traveling wisemen. told me about this over a decade ago and it is still one of my kids favorite things throughout the season. They spend the season making their way to baby Jesus in the nativity and arrive Christmas Morning.

2. This is new for us, provided us with this sweet set up and a verse for every day of the advent season.

3. We love this sweet advent nativity from we have enjoyed setting out something new for the scene each night.

4. Another new tradition that shared with me. We are trying it out this year. It works out well because we are also studying Luke at church.

5. (Not pictured). The kids get three gifts from us each year. Representing the gifts from the wise men. Gold - treasure (something they want), Frankincense- spiritual gift, something that promotes their spiritual growth. Myrrh- used in burial rites. (Something they need) told me about this well over a decade ago when I was so overwhelmed with gifts and what to do for the kids. Its a great way for me to stay focused and not over gift while still tying in the Gospel. We read the story of Christ’s birth before we open presents.
