Sometimes the best things are created by accident. The Sbagliato, or Negroni Sbagliato, is just one such happy mistake, in fact the name Sbagliato comes from the Italian word for mistake.

Legend has it that when mixing a Negroni, bartender Mirko Stocchetto reached for gin and accidentally grabbed Prosecco while mixing cocktails in Milan’s Bar Basso in the 1970’s.

As far as mistakes go, this was a pretty good one! With the popularity of both the Negroni and the Spritz, the Sbagliato is more popular than ever.
