Northern power: connecting remote Canadian communities to the grid

The majority of Canadians are able to take guaranteed and affordable electricity for granted. But this country is also home to hundreds of rural and remote communities who are still off the grid, depending on unreliable energy sources to light and heat their homes. There is, however, a power shift underway in northern Ontario where locals want to be part of fixing the power problem.
