Day in the Life of a British Muslim | Decorating, Jummah, Surprise Holiday Reveal!
Today’s vlog is a real look into a normal day in the life of a British Muslim. I started the day at my sister’s new house, helping her decorate and set up her new home. It had been a while since I visited, and while we were pulling up the floors, I even found my old prayer mat that I had left there a long time ago.
While decorating, I talked about the struggles of living in certain parts of Nottingham as a Muslim — there are no mosques nearby, hardly any halal food options, and very few facilities like gyms. It’s definitely not the most Muslim-friendly area to live in. I shared some personal experiences from when I first reverted to Islam and reflected on how much things have changed over the years.

After loading all the old carpet and waste into the car, I explored the local area looking for a halal breakfast — but it wasn’t easy. Most shops heavily sold pork products, so I ended up grabbing a premium chocolate croissant from M&S instead! After that, we headed to the junkyard to clear all the waste from the renovation work.
Later, I went for a much-needed haircut, changed into clean clothes, freshened up with some perfume, and prepared for Jummah prayer at the mosque. After attending Jummah and seeing some familiar faces, I set off to make the biggest surprise of the day happen — revealing to my wife that I had booked her dream holiday!
We enjoyed an amazing Chinese meal (completely halal!) — hands down one of the best places to eat halal food in Nottingham — and during dinner, I told her the big secret: we’re going to Bali! Seeing her reaction was priceless and made the day even more special.
Afterwards, we grabbed some snacks, including halal Rice Krispies Squares (which used to be non-halal before!), hit the gym for a back workout together, and finally ended the day chilling out, watching the new season of You on Netflix.
This vlog really captures a raw, unfiltered look into Muslim life in the UK — balancing faith, family, fitness, and fun, while staying true to our deen.
